The Tennessee Historical Commission (THC) and The State Historic Preservation Office, is pleased to offer an opportunity to support the agency’s mission to protect and preserve historic sites. The principal responsibilities of this preferred service position include being part of the two-person program that works to facilitate repairs, maintenance, and provides oversight and assistance to the THC’s State Historic sites. The position requires excellent communication, organization, and writing skills, as well as knowledge of the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. The preferred candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in historic preservation or other related field and experience equivalent to two years of full-time professional experience in Historic Preservation or related work. Highlighted Responsibilities:
- Planning and assisting with capital projects
- Coordinating and directing maintenance projects and repairs
- Communicating with site staffs about operations and expectations
- Soliciting reports and information from sites to ensure compliance with Tennessee Historical Commission policies
- Facilitating training and meetings with site managers, staffs, and board members
- Assisting in grant program administration
- Representing the Tennessee Historical Commission at meetings and events, and working with the public
Annual Salary Range $60,600 - $90,840
