Historic Preservation Blog from PreservationDirectory.com -

Website: https://savingplaces.org/stories/11-most-endangered-historic-places-2025

This week the National Trust for Historic Preservation announced their 38th annual list of America's 11 Most Endangered Historic Places. The annual list has proven to be a highly effective tool for shining a light on the threats facing our nation’s greatest treasures. The list uplifts and catalyzes community-led preservation resulting in increased visibility, public attention and new resources. Since 1988 the National Trust has identified and helped to raise awareness for more than 350 sites, only a handful of which have been lost.

This year’s list exemplifies how preservation is about creating something new, spotlighting efforts to repurpose historic buildings and activate them to serve their communities in new ways and the economic benefits that come with it. Check out the complete list of endangered places below and learn more about how you can support these significant sites.

Cedar Key - Florida
French Broad and Swannanoa River Corridors - Western North Carolina
Hotel Casa Blanca - Idlewild, Michigan
May Hicks Curtis House - Flagstaff, Arizona
Mystery Castle - Phoenix, Arizona
