The Downtown Hazleton Alliance for Progress is seeking an intern that will work directly with the Executive Director to help develop a downtown building and business inventory. He or she will also develop concept designs and architectural renderings of key building facades in support of the Alliance's façade renovation initiative. Primary responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Assist with documentation of key downtown commercial buildings (to include photography and/or scaled drawings).
Assist with the preparation of before and after façade studies/rehabilitation concept schematics for several downtown buildings.
Research a variety of sign and awning types, and other façade/storefront features to create an “Idea Sourcebook” for property owners interested in making future improvements.
Assist with the development of a contact list for a variety of building contractors, sign and awning fabricators, and other building restoration specialists.
Assist with the development of a downtown business and building inventory.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will be enrolled in an architectural program and have some knowledge of building construction and architectural history. Candidate should also have experience with AutoCAD, Photoshop, or other similar drafting and photo imaging software. Free-hand architectural drawing and graphic design experience is a plus.
