The Preservation Library is a repository of historic preservation and building restoration publications, reports and articles that provide expert guidance for the rehabilitation and preservation of historic structures, as well as links to essential policy and legal documents that pertain to historic preservation and cultural resource management.

There are currently over 180 documents and resources available, most as free downloadable PDFs.  We are happy to announce that we have recently added over 100 new documents and will be adding more over the next month!  The new documents are in the following categories, located near the bottom of the page (click here to go directly to the new documents):

In order to provide additional exposure during the spring and summer months for the beautiful historic homes listed on and, we are happy to announce the Spring Historic Property Listing Promotion.

From today through midnight PST on Monday March 31, 2014, the fees for all listing periods (2 month; 6 month; or 12 month) will be automatically reduced on the listing form.

Below are the temporarily reduced rates (note: amount is per property):
  • $45 for a 2 month listing - regularly $70 for 2 months
    (add $15 to also list for 2 months on

  • $85 for a 6 month listing - regularly $125 for 6 months
    (add $25 to also list for 6 months on

  • $125 for a 12 month listing - regularly $185 for 12 months
    (add $35 to also list for 12 months on 

In addition to being listed on our websites, each listing submitted as part of the promotion will be posted to our historic real estate Facebook page at, and will also be posted to our Twitter feed (@HistoricPres). 

There is no limit to the amount of properties you can add as part of this promotion.  To qualify, the property must be at least 50 years old or older (please note: the property does NOT need to be listed on the National Register or have any other designation to qualify). 

How to Submit Your Listings:

Again, if you don't currently have a property to list, please consider forwarding this email to Realtors or homeowners who may be selling a historic home, building or other structure.  These listings provide critical funding to our overall preservation activities and any help you could provide in spreading the word is most appreciated!

Our "Preservation Events and Conferences" directory is a comprehensive and up-to-date listing of upcoming historic and cultural resource preservation events all across North America.  Events listed include conferences, historic tours, fundraisers, annual meetings for historical societies, downtown and main street events, and educational programs.  There are currently over 130 events listed for 2014 thru early 2015.   

There is never a fee to list your event, conference, trade show, webinar or other historic preservation-related event.  Be sure to use our online form, which allows you to submit event description, date(s), location, and event logo/graphic.  Click here to use our online form.

We are happy to offer new advertising options on our website and within our monthly email newsletter (this is what you are reading!).
