UPDATE: Historic Ellicott City Flood Recovery (Preservation Maryland)
Historic Preservation Blog from PreservationDirectory.com -
Contributed By: Preservation Maryland

Website: http://www.preservationmaryland.org

From Preservation Maryland:

After destructive flood, help Ellicott City recover!

Here at Preservation Maryland, we have been absolutely overwhelmed by the generosity of our fellow Marylanders this past week. We have received an unprecedented number of donations in the last 72 hours, along with countless offers of equipment donation and volunteer time.  We have never been prouder of our state.

As an organization, we are committed to helping Ellicott City recover, and we know you are too.

How you can help:
  • The downtown area of Ellicott City is too unstable, and it is unsafe for groups to begin major clean-up efforts. Please sign up to receive information when volunteers will be needed.
  • Visit our website that is acting as a digital headquarters for information about the recovery, where we will be updating information as we receive it.

For Historic Property Owners:

  • The Maryland Historical Trust has compiled a list of resources from around the state and country about responding to flooding in historic areas.
  • We will begin to match the needs of affected properties and property owners with professionals that may be able to assist. Please share this form from the Maryland Historical Trust throughout the Ellicott City community and feel free to contact our office directly.

For additional information, please contact Preservation Maryland at 410-685-2886, or call the Howard County Call Center at 410-313-2900.
