The Heritage Society Announces Alison Bell New Executive Director
(Houston,Texas) Rodney E. Nathan, President, and the members of the Board of Directors of The Heritage Society are pleased to announce the appointment of Alison Ayres Bell as Executive Director of The Heritage Society, effective January 1, 2018. Alison previously served as executive director of the Construction Workforce Coalition, a non-profit supported by the construction associations that encourages
students to pursue careers in construction. During her tenure, she successfully
built its membership from 40 members to over 200. Most recently, she served as
President of the Lamar High School Parent Teacher Organization. She also serves
on the Lamar Alumni Board and the Board of Directors of the Beacon, a resource
center for Houston’s homeless. She has served on the Vestry of Christ Church
Cathedral as well as Planned Parenthood of Houston, and has co-chaired several fundraising events, including Sing for Hope benefitting Bering Omega, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Survivor Party and Magical Musical Morning for the Houston
Symphony.

In July, Alison joined THS as Development Director, bringing new energy and vision to the organization. Shortly thereafter, she agreed to step in as Interim Executive
Director while the board carried out its search for a new Executive Director. The
board soon realized that Alison was the leader they were looking for to guide
The Heritage Society into the 21st century.  After being named as the new Executive
Director, Alison said, “I see this as an extraordinary opportunity.  With all of its resources, The Heritage Society is perfectly positioned to continue to tell the story of Houston to local citizens and visitors alike.”

Alison replaces Alice Collette who served over 13 years until her retirement last
year.  Alison is married to former Houston City Council Member and U. S. Congressman Chris Bell and they have two sons, Atlee and Connally.
