Invitation to Bid - Restoration/Repair Work on Several Buildings at The Historic Ananias Pitsenbarger Farm
Invitation to Bid

The owner of The Historic Ananias Pitsenbarger Farm is requesting a bid for restoration/repair work on several buildings at the historic homestead located near Franklin, WV.

The project includes cleaning and repointing of existing above grade masonry of the main house and cellar house, foundation repair on some other buildings, repair or replacement of several hand hewn beams and timbers as necessary for building stabilization, application of borate salts to some logs, and correction of foundation drainage issues, to include gutters, downspouts, French drains and retaining walls.

The project completion date is no later than 31 May 2018 and will be reviewed by the West Virginia State Historic Preservation Office. Contractors will be selected based upon (1) cost, (2) experience with similar historic preservation projects, and (3) proven ability to complete a project. The contractor must carry out the described work in compliance with the Secretary of Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation.

The bid package is available by calling 757.254.4542 or emailing munnjt@verizon.net. The property will be open for a mandatory pre-bid walk-through on Thursday, Feb 8, 2018, at 1 pm. Snow backup date is Feb 13, 2018 at 1 pm. Bids may be placed for all tasks, or just part of the project jobs.

All bids must be received no later than 2:00 pm Feb 23, 2018. Send via USPS to Jeff Munn, 3576 Dry Run Rd, Franklin WV 26807, or by email to munnjt@verizon.net.

Partial funds for this project are through the WV State Historic Preservation Office. All applicable federal, state and local laws, rules, and regulations apply.
