As May 2018 rapidly approaches, the Historic Wilmington Foundation is gearing up to celebrate National Preservation Month, sponsored by the National Trust for Historic Preservation since 1973. To honor those who strive to preserve our local history, we recognize several individuals annually who have proven exemplary in their efforts to protect and promote the Lower Cape Fear's tangible past.
Join us and let your opinion be heard by sending in your nominations now! Awards include:
Identification of Merit to projects displaying outstanding examples in:
* Adaptive reuse, and
* Appropriate new construction
Submissions are also being accepted for Awards of Professional Merit given to commendable individuals in the field of preservation. These consist of:
? The Thomas H. Wright Lifetime Achievement Award
? The David Brinkley Preservationist of the Year Award, and
? The Katherine Howell Award for a remarkable individual displaying exceptional leadership in upholding the Historic Wilmington Foundation's mission in preserving the past of the Lower Cape Fear
