Shortly after our email about good news in the NYS Assembly budget proposal, the NYS Senate released its 2018-19 budget proposal. The Senate proposal also includes extending the NYS Historic Tax Credit through December 31, 2024 and restoring the NYS Historic Tax Credit to its full value prior to last year’s changes to the Federal Historic Tax Credit.
The Senate budget bill is S.7509-B and the NYS Historic Tax Credit is located in section CCC. Senate bill S.7648 led the way for these provisions in the Senate’s budget proposal. Thank you to Senator David Valesky and Senator Catharine Young for their leadership on that bill.
Please thank your Senator for his or her support of the NYS Historic Tax Credit.
Over the next couple of weeks it will be up to the Governor, Assembly, and Senate to come together to arrive at the final budget, which is due by April 1. We're urging legislative leaders to keep the language about the Historic Tax Credits from Senate budget bill S.7509B and Assembly budget bill A.9509B in New York State's 2018-19 budget.
Thank you for your advocacy and support on this issue and for historic preservation in NYS! For more information, contact:
