Historic Preservation Blog from PreservationDirectory.com - archaeology
Contributed By: Elizabeth Muzzey
Website: http://nh.gov/nhdhr

The Division of Historical Resources (DHR) is seeking a highly-qualified professional to fill the position of State Archaeologist. This is a full-time position that works closely with all other programs and services in a busy State Historic Preservation Office in Concord, NH. Successful experience in conducting and evaluating archaeological investigations, overseeing artifact cataloging and curation, and conducting public archaeology programming is essential. Preferred qualifications include expertise in the pre-Contact archaeology of the Northeast, possession of a PhD in archaeology or anthropology (with a specialization in archaeology), and experience in coordinating volunteers, facilities management and emerging technological applications in archaeological research. As with all positions at the DHR, the ability to work creatively within a team setting is essential.
