Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is seeking a highly motivated experienced cultural resource specialist. Responsibilities include leading activities for Section 106 compliance such as identification and evaluation of cultural resources and applying the National Register Criteria; leading research and site visits; preparing compliance reports including historic contexts, property descriptions, and determinations of eligibility; assessing effects to historic resources; managing projects; and working with clients. Some travel will be required.
The successful candidate must have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in historic
preservation or related field such as history, architectural history, or public
history from an accredited four-year college or university and at least seven
years of relevant experience.
The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following: leading cultural resource management activities for Section 106 compliance projects; prior compliance work for transportation projects; authoring reports including architectural descriptions, historic contexts, and statements of significance; leading research and field surveys; applying the National Register Criteria and Criteria of Adverse Effect; consulting with project stakeholders, agency staff and clients; managing project scope, schedule and budget. A master’s degree in historic preservation or related field is also ideal.
