Site Inspector, City of South Bend (South Bend, IN)
Inspect properties within the City of South Bend for compliance with the zoning ordinance and historic district standards.

+Inspect properties that have received a Certificate of Appropriateness to ensure that the work being done complies with the terms of the Certificate as approved.
+Inspect properties that have received zoning violation complaints.
+Document all violations in writing and with photographs and submit documentation.
+Proactively document trouble spots, anticipate questions from the public based on history and respond to requests for information professionally.
+Photograph and document conditions of properties seeking a rezoning and/or variances.
+Inspect local landmarks and historic districts for unauthorized alterations, repairs, removals, or additions.
+Provide technical and product consultation applying the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.
+Inspect properties for compliance with the minimum maintenance standards established by the Historic Preservation Commission and Zoning Ordinance.
+Analyze exterior building components to propose solutions to chronic problems. Communicate concerns and critical issues to HP staff. Track and report problem properties.
+Represent the City professionally and interact with constituents courteously and knowledgeably.
+Complete required reports and keep accurate records and files.
+Present at special events as requested, such as: Heritage Tours, public presentations, conferences, etc.
