Columbus, Ohio Planner II (Historic Preservation) Job Ad

The Planning Division of the Columbus Department of Development seeks qualified candidates to fill two Planner II positions focused on historic preservation.  The Planning Division values diversity in our workforce. As stated by the Mayor’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion, our aim is to reflect the diversity of the citizens that makeup the population of the City of Columbus.

The City's preservation program provides staffing to five historic architectural review commissions and oversees the Columbus Register of Historic Properties. Positions involve working with a wide variety of stakeholders.  Candidates should be organized, dependable and detail oriented. They should also have strong communication skills, a working knowledge of historic preservation, city planning, and development review.

Minimum qualifications are a master's degree in historic preservation, urban planning, architecture, or a related field and one year of related professional experience, or a bachelor's degree and two years of experience. For more details and to respond to the posting, please visit https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/columbusoh/jobs/2656041/planner-ii-vacancy.

About Columbus: Columbus is ranked “#3 Best City to Live in for New College Grads” and “Top 10 Best Big City to Live in Right Now”. Also, recently included on the New York Times' list of "52 Places to Visit in 2019", there's an energy and excitement in Columbus that's going to hit you as soon as you arrive. Big things are happening here, and you're invited to join in. Read more about the city at https://www.experiencecolumbus.com.
