The Maryland Historical Trust (MHT), Maryland’s State Historic Preservation Office, seeks an energetic and collaborative preservation professional to fill the position of Preservation Officer in its Project Review and Compliance Unit in Crownsville, Maryland. This position reviews federal and state-assisted undertakings throughout Maryland for their effects on historic resources in compliance with federal and state historic preservation laws, Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and the Maryland Historical Trust Act of 1985.  Consulting with a variety of federal and state agencies, other involved parties, and the public on a wide range of project types - the Preservation Officer works collaboratively to ensure compliance with historic preservation requirements and to find successful solutions that avoid, minimize and mitigate adverse effects on historic properties.
