The Maryland Historical Trust (MHT) is the State agency dedicated to preserving and interpreting the legacy of Maryland’s past. Through research, conservation and education, MHT assists the people of Maryland in understanding their historical and cultural heritage. Part of the Maryland Department of Planning, the Maryland Historical Trust serves as Maryland’s State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) pursuant to the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966.
The position of Chief of the Office of Management is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring the fiscal operations of all programs, developing and preparing all budgets, and overseeing grants management, procurement, contracts, and personnel management for the Maryland Historical Trust (MHT) and Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum (JPPM). The position is the main liaison between MHT/JPPM and DBM’s Office of Budget Analysis and Office of Capital Budgeting. The position functions as Chief of the Office of Management, working directly with the MHT Director and Deputy Director, manages front office operations, and oversees the provision of support services for the MHT Board of Trustees. This position is also responsible for coordinating and implementing system-wide administrative operations as well as serving as the main liaison between MHT/JPPM and the MDP Operations Division. By ensuring the effective administration of MHT/JPPM programs, this position directly supports MHT’s mission to preserve and interpret the legacy of Maryland’s past through research, conservation, and education.
