Job Description 
Immediate opening. Full Time: 40 hours/week. Salary starts at $35,000 (salary commensurate with experience).

The Office and Outreach Manager of Maine Preservation is generally the first point of contact for the organization. This position demands excellent professional, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, plus the willingness and positive attitude to meet the ever-changing project demands of a growing, dynamic statewide nonprofit organization. The position reports to and provides direct support to the Executive Director and coordinates with organization staff to provide support for development activities, communications, programs, and events. 

The Office and Outreach Manager must communicate clearly, juggle multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work well with other staff, volunteers and interns. The Office and Outreach Manager must be dependable, punctual, and trustworthy; work effectively as a team member as well as independently; collaborate with other staff to help formulate and coordinate organization strategy; and manage and implement detailed and varied work accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities
  • Human resources lead: Serve as the human resources point person for the organization: assist in payroll, medical insurance open enrollment 
  • Board support: Draft Executive Committee and Board meeting agendas and minutes and help staff prepare for committee and board meetings 
  • Development support: maintain donor records, prepare donation acknowledgement letters, and assist in development campaigns, and collaborate in the preparation and execution of events 
  • Communications: Serve as the public contact lead for the organization and manage the organizations social media presence, website, and digital content 
  • Accounting support: Compile financial information including deposits, bills, and invoices in conjunction with an outside accountant; and assist in the development of financial projections and annual budgets 
  • Maintain organizational data and files and donor records and perform other requested tasks. 
Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and QuickBooks 
  • Familiarly with DonorPerfect, Adobe Acrobat, and Squarespace preferred, but not required
  • Experience with professional social media presence and website content management, and graphic design experience are required  
  • Ability to quickly learn to use new software is essential
  • Working knowledge of, or interest in, historic preservation is helpful
  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, as is education or experience in historic preservation.
