Outreach Associate, Maine Preservation (Yarmouth, ME)

The Outreach Associate of Maine Preservation is generally the first point of contact for the organization. This position demands excellent professional, interpersonal,
organizational and communication skills, plus the willingness and positive
attitude to meet the ever-changing project demands of a growing, dynamic
statewide nonprofit organization. The position reports to and provides direct
support to the Executive Director and coordinates with organization staff to
provide communications support for programs, events, and development activities.


The Outreach Associate must communicate clearly, juggle multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work well with other staff, volunteers, and interns. The Outreach Associate must be dependable, punctual, and trustworthy; work effectively as a team member as well as independently; collaborate with other staff to help formulate and coordinate organization strategy; and manage and implement detailed and varied work accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities

· Communications: Serve as the public contact lead for the organization and manage the organizations social media presence, website, and digital/print content.

· Programs and events: Manage logistics and outreach for educational and awards programming, collaborate in the preparation and execution of fundraising and other events.

· Development support: Maintain donor records, prepare acknowledgement letters, and assist in development campaigns.

· Maintain organizational data and files perform other requested tasks as needed, such as board management support.

Qualifications

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat, ability to quickly learn to use new software is essential.

· Experience with professional social media presence and website content management, and graphic design experience are required.

· Expertise with mapping programs a plus.

· Familiarity with DonorPerfect is preferred, but not required.

· A working knowledge of, or interest in, Maine’s history and heritage is preferred.

 · A Bachelor’s degree is required, education or experience in historic preservation is preferred.

members, trustees, donors, preservation professionals, policy makers, and representatives from allied organizations.

Maine Preservation is the statewide historic preservation 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, founded in 1972. Maine Preservation promotes and preserves historic places, buildings, downtowns and neighborhoods, strengthening the cultural and economic vitality of Maine communities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year

Work Location: Portland Maine & Surrounding Area

Typical start time: 9AM
Typical end time: 5PM
