Mead & Hunt has a strong and thriving people-focused culture that values diversity, inclusion, and connection.  Responsibilities include identifying and evaluating historic resources; conducting research and site visits; preparing reports, including historic contexts, property descriptions, and National Register evaluations; and working with clients and project managers on Section 106 compliance projects. Travel will be required.


The successful candidate must have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in historic preservation or related field such as history, architectural history, or public history from an accredited four-year college or university or the ability to obtain the degree within three months of hire.

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:
 
• Experience completing cultural resource management activities for Section 106 transportation compliance projects 

• Experience preparing building descriptions, historic contexts, and/or statements of significance 

• Experience conducting research and field surveys and applying the National Register Criteria

• Experience navigating project schedules

• Experience with outreach to traditionally underrepresented groups, neighborhoods, and communities and/or researching and evaluating associated historic resources
 
• Spanish language proficiency

• A master’s degree in historic preservation and at least 12 months of relevant experience (internship, etc.)
