The Technical Assistance Grant program provides support for consulting projects that preserve New York State’s cultural and historic resources. Grants of up to $4,000, with a required 20% project cost match from each applicant, are available to nonprofits and municipalities that own or have a long-term lease on buildings that house historic sites, museums, arts facilities, and other important institutions that serve an arts or cultural purpose and are open to the public. The grants support professional services of architects, engineers, and other design and preservation professionals.
The Technical Assistance Grant program is a partnership between the New York State Council on the Arts and the Preservation League. The Robert David Lion Gardiner Foundation has provided additional support for nonprofit applicants in Nassau and Suffolk Counties, while funds from the Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area will support projects within the National Heritage Area boundary.
