Manager | Chatham Village Homes, Inc. 

Located on Mount Washington in Pittsburgh, PA, Chatham Village Homes (CVH) is a housing cooperative of over 200 residences. Chatham Village combines the charm of a garden community and nearly 26 acres of natural woodland with the convenience of modern urban living in Pittsburgh. CVH is pledged to the letter and spirit of the U.S. and local government policies for the achievement of equal housing opportunity throughout the nation and in the City of Pittsburgh. Built in 1932, Chatham Village was designated a National Historic Landmark by the United States Secretary of the Interior in 2005. The Manager of CVH is responsible for executing the strategic goals and operational objectives of the board of directors for the cooperative, and is responsible for managing the daily operations of the community. 

CVH is now accepting applications for the permanent full-time position of Manager, with employment to begin January 2022. Application review will begin on October 1, 2021 and will continue until the position is filled. 

Responsibilities: 
Interfacing with and addressing the residential needs of the members of CVH
Leading a team of 10-15 employees and contractors; ensuring the implementation of best practices in people management
Administering the annual budget, overseeing the financial welfare of CVH, and working with the board to perform all necessary fiduciary obligations of the corporation
Managing external relations, including with vendors and contractors 
Ensuring responsible stewardship of the 26-acre grounds and the sound maintenance of buildings and facilitiesMeeting with the CVH board and committees, and executing governance actions of the board

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of state and federal residential property management laws, regulations, and practices
Understanding of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, project management, leadership, and coordination/collaboration of people and resources
Ethics, integrity, transparency, and accountability in all actions
Budget management experience
Long-range planning experience 
Ability to manage the growth and development of a service-oriented staff
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to research problems and prepare succinct written recommendations
Ability to prepare and supervise the keeping of a variety of records and reports
A commitment to interact effectively with diverse groups of members, staff, board, committee members, vendors, local and state officials, and other entities
Knowledge of basic association governing documents: Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation with ability to understand and implement said guidelines
Knowledge of accepted management practices and procedures
Knowledge of effective grounds, infrastructure maintenance, and risk management for a National Historic Landmark
Work with confidential/sensitive information and use diplomacy and discretion in communicating such information   

Requirements and Qualifications: 
Working knowledge of property management-related laws and practices
Experience in a leadership role, property management, financial/budget management, and project management
Ability to pass a background check

Preferred Qualifications: 
Professional certification: Certified Property Manager (CPM), Accredited Residential Manager (ARM),  Residential Property Manager (RPM), or Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) 
Bachelor’s degree 
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, QuickBooks (or equivalent), and property management software
