SC American Revolution 250th Commission Executive Director Job Opening, SC Department of Archives & History (Richland County, SC)

Job Responsibilities: The Executive Director will travel throughout South Carolina and meet with governmental organizations, individuals, and NGOs to promote joining the SC American Revolution 250th Commission's commemorative efforts.
The Executive Director will manage all Commission projects and communicate the
Commission's vision - both written and oral- and be able to effectively
articulate to stakeholders the reasons and goals for the commemoration, while
listening and gathering relevant information regarding the needs and desires of

Minimum and Additional Requirements: Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in business, business management, communications, finance, marketing, history, historic preservation, or other related fields or comparable experience in either public or private sector. Candidates must be able to communicate in a clear and effective manner, both orally and in writing, and be able to articulate both clearly and concisely the reasons and goals for the SC American Revolution 250th Commemoration. Candidates must have excellent organizational and time management skills. Candidates must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle in South Carolina, travel to all South Carolina counties, day and night, and make effective presentations and attend events representing the Commission.
Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree in business, business management, communications, finance, marketing, history, historic preservation, or other related field. Candidates must either be familiar with the history of South Carolina in the
American Revolution or be a willing student.
