Greetings from
Maryland!
At the Maryland
Historical Trust (the SHPO for Maryland), we have an opening for our Grants
Manager. The position is responsible for administering our state grant
programs and federal grant awards, including applying for and monitoring MHT’s
Annual Historic Preservation Award received from the National Park Service
(NPS) Historic Preservation Fund, including compilation of federal
reimbursement requests in accordance with federal regulations and the National
Historic Preservation Act. As part of our fiscal and administrative staff in
the MHT Office of Management, the position works directly with the Chief of the
Office of Management, MHT Deputy Director, and MHT Director. By ensuring the
effective administration of MHT’s operations, this position directly supports
MHT’s mission to preserve and interpret the legacy of Maryland’s past through
research, conservation, and education.
MHT has a robust set
of state-funded grant programs including Capital and Non-Capital Historic
Preservation Grants, African American Heritage Preservation Grants, and grants
for heritage tourism through the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority. In
addition, we regularly apply for and receive federal grants from NPS, IMLS, and
other sources, and several of those grants are ongoing at this time. This
is a supervisory position.
This is a full-time,
permanent state position with benefits. In addition, the new hire will
overlap in the position with the departing staff member for a number of months
for training purposes.
