Preservation League of NYS - Call for Grant Reviewers
Historic Preservation Blog from PreservationDirectory.com -
Contributed By: Preservation League of NYS
Email The Author: grants@preservenys.org
Website: https://www.preservenys.org/call-for-grant-reviewers?fbclid=IwAR3lbDKptLyUUIXJz8wa-b75aiHYVRqoAEtbwegi7jwqgaqV1ftSbTaAOpg

The League offers two rounds of preservation planning grants each year: Technical Assistance Grants in the fall and Preserve New York grants in the spring. Each grant panel is made up of 4-6 professionals with a wide range of experiences, from architecture and the arts to structural engineering, museum and historic site management, preservation consulting, and other related fields.

Grant reviewers dedicate their time and expertise to advance the highest professional practices in the field of historic preservation, while strengthening their own grant writing skills, networking with others, gaining perspective on preservation trends in New York State, and learning about the needs of organizations and municipalities that steward historic resources. The League’s review process is based on that used by the New York State Council on the Arts, our primary grant partner. The success of our grant programs relies on the expertise of our reviewers.

No travel is required at this time. Reviewers are asked to attend a required online training session lasting an hour or less; read, comment, and score applications in a grant cycle (a typical grant cycle sees between 30 and 60 applications); and attend one or two online review meetings lasting approximately 2-3 hours each. Recognizing the many demands our reviewers have on their time, the League offers each participant an honorarium.

If you would like to be added to our database of potential panelists for the fall of 2022 and beyond, please complete our online form at https://www.preservenys.org/call-for-grant-reviewers?fbclid=IwAR3lbDKptLyUUIXJz8wa-b75aiHYVRqoAEtbwegi7jwqgaqV1ftSbTaAOpg
