The Kansas Historical Society in Topeka is seeking a permanent, full time, Project and Outreach Coordinator (Archeologist II) for the Archeology Office in the Cultural Resources Division, open until filled. 

Starting Salary: 
$17.39/hr-$19.16/hr (dependent on experience). 

Job Description:
The Project and Outreach Coordinator assists the Contract Archeology Program in its cultural resource assessments for compliance with Section 106 of the NRHP, for Kansas DOT. This will include organizing and planning field projects and conducting field work. This position also coordinates archeology outreach for the Historical Society, including answering public inquiries, giving presentations, writing social media posts, and working to coordinate the Kansas Archeology Training Program field school.

Qualifications:
Graduate Degree in archeology, anthropology, or closely related field.
Although an individual already meeting SOI Professional Qualifications in archeology is preferred, soon to be Masters recipients will be considered. 
Must be physically able to carry out pedestrian archeological surveys on all types of terrain and under all kinds of climatic conditions, and to perform standard archeological testing and excavation techniques.
