Wood in Historic Buildings

The purpose of this course is to develop your understanding of the characteristics, conservation challenges and remedial treatments of wood as used in variety of architectural applications and building construction types. It will focus on developing participant’s understanding of problems encountered with wood structures and lead to sound conservation decision making through subject lectures, discussions, and field studies. Time will be available for presentation and discussion of participants’ wood structures if desired. This course focuses on solid wood in structures. |
