L.A. NOIR-chitecture: A hard-boiled tour through the historic city

This one-time-only event is a hard-boiled tour through the historic city on Sunday, November 9 from 10 a.m.- 4p.m.It explores seven historic sites from Los Angeles noir fiction and film, from the Formosa Café, the West Hollywood watering hole featured in the 1997 film “L.A. Confidential,” to the Warner Bros. studio lot where “The Maltese Falcon” was filmed, to a gritty Hollywood apartment complex where Nathanael West lived while penning “The Day of the Locust,” and more. Guests drive themselves to each stop, where they receive a docent-led tour. Presented in partnership with the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs as part of The Big Read, an initiative of the National Endowment of the Arts designed to restore reading to the center of American culture. Proceeds benefit the nonprofit L.A. Conservancy, devoted to preserving the authentic built history of Los Angeles.
