Black Women's Suffrage in Washington, DC (Webinar)

March 14, 2025 |
In 2020, DCPL partnered with the DC State Historic Preservation Office through funding from the National Park Service to produce a context study on Women’s Suffrage in Washington, DC. To continue the documentation effort, DCPL received a grant in 2022 from the National Park Service's Underrepresented Communities Grant Program to underwrite the development of a Historic Context Study on the Black Women’s Suffrage Movement in Washington, DC. This March, join researchers Dr. Portia Hopkins and Dr. Synatra Smith to learn more about their work on the Black Women's Suffrage Movement in Washington, DC (1848-1973) Historic Context Study. Your feedback and questions are welcome at this presentation!
