Historic Tax Credit Lobby Day

June 11, 2025

Our partners at the Historic Tax Credit Coalition are once again organizing their annual Historic Tax Credit (HTC) Lobby Day on Wednesday, June 11th in Washington, D.C. The lobby day coincides with the IPED Historic Tax Credit Summit (June 12-13) when many from the HTC industry will be in town. The HTC Coalition will set up meetings, provide educational materials, and host a morning breakfast briefing on June 11th before heading to Capitol Hill between 11am and 12 noon for an afternoon of meetings.

With numerous tax incentives set to expire at the end of this year, one of top priorities for Congress and the White House is passing a large tax bill. This presents a huge opportunity for advocates to push for much-needed improvements to the Historic Tax Credit. Champions in Congress recently reintroduced the Historic Tax Credit Growth and Opportunity Act (H.R. 2941, S.1459) which includes several provisions that will restore value to the HTC, improve access to the credit, make more projects eligible, and boost the credit for smaller and rural rehabilitation projects. HTC Lobby Day attendees will take to the Hill to build support for the HTC-GO Act and urge inclusion of these provisions in emerging tax legislation.

If you haven't already, check out our HTC-GO Action Alert to learn how you can take action!

All HTC advocates (historic rehab, preservation, main street, economic development) are encouraged to participate. If your House member is on the tax writing committee, or you live in or have projects in any of the following states, you are HIGHLY encouraged to attend: AK, AL, AZ, AR, FL, ID, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MS, MO, MT, NE, NY, NC, ND, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, WV, WI, WY

If you are interested in attending, please email Michael Phillips at NTCIC to confirm your attendance and to learn more.
