Doors Open at the Blinn House

September 13, 2025 |
Pasadena Heritage is thrilled to once again participate in the California Preservation Foundation’s Doors Open event! Join us for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the 1906 Blinn House, an architectural treasure designed by renowned architect George Washington Maher. As the only known Maher residence west of the Mississippi, this Prairie-style home is listed on both the National Register of Historic Places and the California Register of Historical Resources. It is designated as a Pasadena City landmark.
This special tour will provide access to areas of the Blinn House that are not typically open to the public, including the second and third floors, offering a unique and intimate glimpse into Pasadena’s early 20th-century history. The Blinn House is situated in the historic Ford Place District, once an exclusive neighborhood that showcases the area’s rich architectural legacy.
Guests will also receive a self-guided walking tour brochure of the Ford Place Historic District, inviting them to explore this remarkable neighborhood further.
Don't miss this opportunity to step back in time and explore a key piece of Pasadena’s history as part of the Doors Open California Preservation event, celebrating the beauty and heritage of our state.
