Los Angeles Conservancy's 30th Anniversary Gala at Bullocks Wilshire
November 22, 2008 |
Opened in 1929, the elegant Art Deco Bullocks Wilshire department store quickly became the city’s premier shopping destination for generations of Angelenos. After the store closed in 1993, the building's fate hung in the balance until neighboring Southwestern Law School purchased it for campus expansion, painstakingly restoring the building's historic elements and adapting it for state-of-the-art academic use. The project exemplifies preservation at its finest, earning the Conservancy’s esteemed President’s Award in 2005.
Join us for a singular opportunity to revisit the Bullocks Wilshire experience as we celebrate thirty years of historic preservation in Los Angeles.
