March 19-21, 2009 |
Goucher College in Baltimore will host the Sixth National Forum on Historic Preservation Practice: A Critical Look at Sustainability and Historic Preservation which will explore the challenges that preservation faces in becoming a critical component of the national debate about sustainability. It will begin on Thursday with a late afternoon tour of the recently installed geothermal and fire suppression systems and evening reception at Hampton National Historic Site. Friday and Saturday feature sessions with experts in preservation, cultural landscapes, greening historic buildings and affordable housing, and sustainability policies in neighborhoods and small cities. On Saturday morning there is an optional tour of Goucher's LEED Silver Athenaeum currently under construction. A maximum of 150 registrants will be accepted to facilitate interaction among participants. Registration fee is $175. AIA CES credits will be available. We anticipate having AICP CM credits available. More information and a registration form can be found on the Forum website www.goucher.edu/forum2009 or call 800.697.4646 for a brochure
