Sculpture & Gravestone Preservation

This will be a two day workshop held over the weekend.
One day will be spent at the Carving Studio and Sculpture Center which is adjacent to a historic marble quarry.
The primary goal of this workshop is to educate all attendants, regarding all aspects of stone preservation procedures and techniques.
The workshop will consist of one day of gravestone and monument conservation at the historic Pleasant Street Cemetery in West Rutland, and one day of stone conservation treatments performed outdoors on the Carving Studio’s collection.
Questions, interaction and group discussion is encouraged.
Participants are welcome to bring along photographs of historic masonry, sculptures, or gravestones which they have concerns or questions about.
