Formerly known as the "Victorian Architecture and its Preservation Conference," the "Preserving Victorian Collectsions & Architecture Conference" is now in its tenth year. It is coordinated by the Oil Region Alliance of Business, Industry & Tourism, with the assistance of the Titusville Historical Society and the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville.
Seminars, workshops & guided tours showcasing the diverse Victorian-era buildings and structures in and around Titusville, PA (home of the first successful commercial oil well, the region is known as "the valley that changed the world") are scheduled. It will feature sessions on preserving artifacts, documents and collections, and, workshops on maintaining historic buildings. Meet Ms. Catherine M. V. Thuro, author of "Oil Lamps 3, Victorian Kerosene Lighting 1860 - 1900."
Most of the sessions will be held on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville, located at 504 East Main Street. Dessert reception featuring Ms. Thuro will be held at Perry Street Station, located at 409 South Perry Street in Titusville, PA.
Early registration is recommended. Limited seating is available for some sessions, especially the Victorian Tea and Tour at the c. 1870 Adams residence located at 219 North Brown Street in Titusville.
