Beginning in 1993, the RI Historical Preservation & Heritage Commission (RIHPHC) has presented annual State Historic Preservation Awards to honor individuals, organizations, and projects for their contributions to the preservation of Rhode Island's historic resources.

In 2009, RIHPHC and Preserve Rhode Island will join together to present awards at a fall preservation celebration (SAVE THE DATE: Thursday, October 29, 5:30pm). Together we will celebrate great preservation achievements, people who have made a difference in their community, and projects that inspire others to protect special places in Rhode Island.

We need your input to develop the slate of awards for 2009. Please download and print a nomination form (pdf) at http://www.preservation.ri.gov/pdfs_zips_downloads/conf_pdfs/09awardsform.pdf and submit it to RIHPHC by mail no later than July 31, 2009.
