Wright Way Michigan: Meyer May Centennial
October 2-4, 2009 |
Join us for a three day, two night fall excursion to central Michigan to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Meyer May house (1908). This Prairie style masterwork was meticulously restored in 1987 by Steelcase, a Grand Rapids-based company that designed furniture for Frank Lloyd Wright. While in Grand Rapids enjoy the 40th Annual Heritage Hill Weekend Tour of Homes and visit nine private homes in the largest urban historic district recognized by the National Register of Historic Places. Take in the 125- acre Frederick Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park and all its fall beauty. Visit two privately-owned Wright designed homes in Kalamazoo and Galesburg on the trip back to Chicago.
