Preservation Institute: Nantucket 2010
June 3 - July 28, 2010 |
Preservation Institute: Nantucket (PI:N) is a hands-on, interdisciplinary program that introduces participants to the theories and methodologies of international cultural heritage conservation. Nantucket's unique historic and natural environment serves as an educational laboratory that allows students to learn and apply the research, documentation, management, and monitoring skills required to support the stewardship of World Heritage-caliber sites.
Since 1972, PI:N has been instrumental in supporting local efforts to document and conserve Nantucket's historic built environment. Building upon this experience, PI:N is now leading an effort to explore the potential of nominating the cultural landscape of Nantucket to the to the World Heritage List. |
