"10 Most Endangered Historic Sites in New Jersey" 2010 Announcement
May 18, 2010 |
In recognition of National Preservation Month, Preservation New Jersey, Inc. (PNJ) will announce its 16th annual list of the 10 Most Endangered Historic Sites in New Jersey on May 18th, 2010 at 10:00am. We will host a press conference at Trenton's Old Barracks state historic site to announce this year's list. The list of sites will also go live on our website, www.pnj10most.org, at that time, with high-quality images of this year's sites and a wealth of information on each site and it's threats.
The 10 Most Endangered Historic Sites program spotlights irreplaceable historic, architectural, cultural and archeological resources in New Jersey that are in imminent danger of being lost. The list aims to attract new perspectives and ideas to historic sites in desperate need of creative solutions. The involvement of an educated and informed public is critical for positive outcomes. Selections to the 10 Most Endangered Historic Sites list are based on the likelihood that solutions can be found and historic buildings and places can be brought back to useful and productive life. PNJ proudly points to many properties previously listed among the 10 Most Endangered that have now been saved and preserved or rehabilitated, and have once again become character-defining assets to New Jersey’s communities. Support the Garden State's irreplaceable heritage- preserve New Jersey!
