Discover history and culture at the Banneker-Douglass Museum's Summer Children's Series. Spend Wednesday afternoons at the museum learning about art and theater through hands on activites and arts and crafts.
28 July: Messages in African Art - Learn about Adinkra symbols and how they are used in art and fabrics and then create your own Andinkra symbol artwork.
4 August: Matchstick Construction - View artworks from the museum's Fine Arts Collection made entirely out of matchsticks and try your hand at creating your own sculpture.
11 August: Communities in Pictures - Discover how to pictures tell stories about communities and then create an artwork that tells a story about you and your community.
18 August: Telling Stories through Acting - Hear stories about famous Marylanders and act out their lives with the help of a professional actor.
