Harvesting Your History: Open House and Call for Photographs
September 12, 2010 |
The Historical Society will be partnering on a new book about the history of fruit farming in Napa and needs your photos. On Sunday, September 12th from 12-4 p.m. the public is invited to Harvesting Your History, an open house at the Goodman Library to see the current exhibition Harvesting History and contribute photographs of people with the fruits they have planted, grown, picked, canned or cooked. Photos can be from centuries ago or as recent as yesterday. The fruit can be apple, apricot, cherry, plum, prune, pear, fig or walnut. We need to know the date of the photo, the people in the photo, location and a brief description about the photo. We’ll be scanning your photo and returning it to you that day so you won’t lose this precious memento, but by participating in our project you’ll become part of history and have your photo considered for this upcoming book, due out in 20ll. |
