Current Issues in Historic Property Designation

One of the toughest challenges faced by historic preservationists is dispelling common misconceptions about how historic property designation impacts a property owner. Opposition to historic property designation has revolved around property rights, design guidelines, and a lack of understanding about historical significance of a building or site. This workshop will address these issues utilizing case studies from around the state. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss current designation issues in their communities. |
