Oregon Main Street Conference
October 6-8, 2010 |
The theme is “It’s All Happening Downtown!” so sessions and walking tours are planned to inspire and educate, said Oscar Hult, executive director of the Albany Downtown Association. The conference is free to those in Oregon Main Street Network communities, including ADA members, and the cost is $35 for non-network members.
A conference brochure with event and registration information is available on the ADA website, www.Albanydowntown.com. For more information call 541-928-2469.
Keynote speaker will be Jon Schallert, The Schallert Group, on “Business Re-invention: The New Normal on Main Street and Every Street.”
The Main Street program is a national program developed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, which includes more than 1,600 cities in 40 states. The approach emphasizes community organization, design, promotion and economic restructuring to create healthy downtown commercial districts.
