November 13, 2010 - April 9, 2011
Dancin' at the Mansion

The Kathryn Anderson Classic Jazz Trio will perform well-loved standards at “Dancin’ at the Mansion” get-togethers at Ventfort Hall Mansion and Gilded Age Museum every second Saturday starting November 13 from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. Other second Saturdays will be December 11, January 8, February 12, March 12 and April 9.

Ventfort Hall, where the elegant ambiance of the past is re-created, will hosting dances one  evening a month, at which attendees can indulge in one of the pleasures of the past, couples dancing to great music. The trio will perform classic music from the American Songbook in a retro style reminiscent of the favorite songs of Sinatra and other great legends of the Golden Age of Swing.   Anderson, a classic jazz singer based in Lenox, gives her songs from the 1940s an irresistible bounce and swing with expert accompaniment on piano and bass. The music is ideal for the foxtrot, swing, waltz, rumba or simply dancing naturally to the feel of this up-beat sound. She states, “No expertise is required.  Even just listening is welcome!”

Admission: $16 per person and $25 per couple or buy the series in advance $80 per person or $125 per couple. Desserts and light refreshments are included along with a cash wine bar. For further information call Ventfort Hall at 413-243-3206 or click onto www.gildedage.org.  The historic mansion is located at 104 Walker Street in Lenox.
