Century of Progress Homes Revisited
March 17, 2011 |
In 1933-34, the Armco-Ferro house was visited by thousands of visitors to the Century of Progress Exhibition on Chicago’s Lakefront. After being seen by the world, the house and several others, including the famous “House of Tomorrow”, were shipped to Beverly Shores in northern Indiana. For the past few years, several of the houses have been carefully restored. Rolf Achilles and Christoph Lichtenfeld, who with his wife, Char, has been restoring the Armco-Ferro House, will talk about this work.
