From the Gilded Age to the Space Age: A Century of American Lighting 1870-1970
February 26, 2011 |
Nothing defines the interior of an older home like its lighting. Just as exterior building styles have changed throughout the decades, so have the designs and materials of light fixtures. Appropriate lighting is an important component of any home restoration project and we’re bringing in a top-notch expert to “enlighten” us about popular lighting styles.
Please join us as Bo Sullivan, Lighting Historian for Rejuvenation and the owner of Arcalus Period Design, shares rare images from original trade catalogs and vintage books on home décor. Bo will trace the evolution of American lighting styles from elaborate Neo-Grec gas chandeliers through the out-of-this-world Sputnik lights of Mid-Century Modern.
