Historic Harrisburg Association and Zonta Club of Harrisburg-Hershey have come together in a fund  raising partnership to help preserve and enhance the quality of life in our communities. This fund raising effort will take place at an event entitled Antiques and Advocacy: Changing Lives and Preserving History, scheduled for March 20, 2011.

Attendees are invited to bring their family heirlooms and treasures to be appraised by Cordier Antiques and Auctions while they are entertained by auctioneers David Cordier and Ellen Miller with their knowledge, expertise and charisma. Guests will also enjoy wine and cheese as they listen to the untold stories behind beautiful locally owned objects as they are appraised live. The event is expected to bring auction and antique enthusiasts and history buffs from all around together in support of fund raising for organizations dedicated to improving their communities.

Guest auctioneer, David Cordier , has written extensively for the Harrisburg Patriot News including At Home with Antiques articles for the At Home magazine and the bi-weekly feature column Eye on Antiques that focused on antiques and related events in central Pennsylvania. 

The event's fundraising will support Historic Harrisburg's efforts in preserving, restoring and revitalizing Harrisburg's architectural heritage and Zonta Club's efforts in advancing the status of women worldwide. Guests will have the opportunity to donate items to the afternoon's auction, scheduled for that same day to benefit Historic Harrisburg. Ticket sales will directly benefit Zonta Club.

The event will take place at Historic Harrisburg's Resource Center, with registration for appraisals opening at 2:00 p.m. and tickets will cost $10.00.
