Greening Historic Communites: What Works, What Doesn't, What Should Change

EPA is sponsoring their second Green Preservation Symposium. This event will get together preservationists and green building technology specialists; along with local, state, and federal planners and officials, preservation architects, Community Development Corporations, and other related practitioners to discuss the best way to green and properly enhance historic communities. Speakers will include Donovan Rypkema, Jean Carroon, Carl Elefante, Kaid Benfield, and Tom Liebel among others. Mid-Atlantic historic communities will also showcase their effots to green their towns, sharing their challenges and successes.
EPA is joined by The National Park Service and the state of Delaware in sponsoring this event. Partnering organizations include National Trust For Historic Preservation, Delaware Valley Green Building Council, National Conference of State Hustoric Preservation Officers and Advisory Council on Historic Preservation.
