May 8, 2011 |
Santa Fe, NM – April 13, 2011 - The Historic Santa Fe Foundation will host its 2011 Annual Mother’s Day Historic House Tour on May 8th, 2011 as part of Heritage Preservation Month. The tour will take place from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m on Sunday. Tickets and maps will be available at any of the four featured homes during the event:
- El Zaguán (The James L. Johnson House), 545 Canyon Road
- Francis C. Wilson Garden, 316 East Buena Vista
- The Tudesqui House & Garden, 135 East De Vargas
- The Donaciano Vigil House, 518 Alto Street
The Annual Tour, sponsored by the Historic Santa Fe Foundation, will feature four historic properties. Tickets are available for a $5 donation. These properties are only open to the public during this tour. Participants may begin at any property and continue in any order they choose. Docents will be stationed at each property. Last year during the 2010 Mother’s Day Tour, nearly 900 people visited the Gustave Baumann home, which was undergoing preservation at the time. Due to the popularity of this project and its recent completion, the Historic Santa Fe Foundation will host a separate 2-day Open House on June 18th & 19th from 10am - 4pm. For ticket information, please contact the Historic Santa Fe Foundation at (505) 983-2567 or info@historicsantafe.org.
The Historic Santa Fe Foundation is celebrating it’s 50th anniversary and the annual Mother’s Day Historic House Tour has been a community event for about as long as the foundation has existed.
“This popular event has become a tradition for many families” said Elaine Bergman, Executive Director of Historic Santa fe Foundation. “It is so delightful to see the streets populated with pedestrians, just like the old days.”
