Join Us “Images, Sounds, and Meanings of the Civil War” is the theme of the 2011 annual meeting of the Kentucky-Tennessee American Studies Association. This year’s conference will examine aspects of the Civil War in American art, film, music, memory, history, cultural anthropology, literature, and culture.
Conference Location Conveniently located 30 miles southeast of Nashville, Murfreesboro represents a unique blend of Civil War history and a thriving 21st century community. Conference sessions will take place at The Heritage Center of Murfreesboro and Rutherford County, http://www.hcmrc.org, a living heritage museum and orientation center administered by staff and students of the MTSU Center for Historic Preservation and the Tennessee Civil War National Heritage Area.
