Parks Canada Celebrations in Vancouver on Parks Day 2011
Family Fun with Free Outdoor Concert to Mark 100th Birthday
Paint the town green this summer and experience Canada's parks with Parks Canada and BC Parks, as both celebrate their 100th birthday this year. Bring the entire family down to one of Vancouver's most beloved places, Stanley Park, and join in a free outdoor concert with international sensation K'Naan, Saskatoon's The Sheepdogs, and Kelowna’s 17-year-old singer/songwriter extraordinaire, Kate Morgan.
Kids can hang out and learn to camp, hike, surf, climb, fish, geocache, talk to historic characters and park rangers, play with Parka the Beaver and Jerry the Moose and meet snowboarding Olympic gold medalist, Maelle Ricker. And of course no birthday bash would be complete without a slice of centennial cake!
