The Third International Architectural Paint Research Conference
January 17-19, 2008 |
The Third International Architectural Paint Research Conference will be held January 17-19, 2008 at Columbia University in New York City. The field of architectural paint analysis is a small yet rapidly growing field that is becoming recognized as a significant contributor to building investigation and research. An international conference allows the dissemination of information and assessment of issues within this field. One goal of the conference is to open dialog and work towards standards for architectural paint analysis.
This conference will be an outgrowth of the May 2005 Copenhagen conference titled “Architectural Paint Research in Building Conservation: Understanding Decorative Paint with a View to Informed Conservation” which addressed important issues regarding architectural paint research, analysis and conservation. The first international paint conference titled “Layers of Understanding: Setting Standards for Architectural Paint Analysis” was held in April 2000 and sponsored by English Heritage. |
